About the Artwork on this Site
Gabriel Salazar, a Mexican-born artist, works from a corner studio in his Donna, Texas, home. A self-taught painter, Salazar paints primarily oil on canvas. He has been painting since the mid-1970s. He painted in Austin for several years before returning to the Valley where he receives the inspiration for most of his paintings. Salazar concentrates on landscapes, recently painting scenes of what the Valley looked like before the freezes of 1983 and 1989, when many roads were lined with tall palms. Salazar's paintings are featured prominently throughout JGKL's offices.
