Terry D. Key
Terry D. Key grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S.
Marine Corps from 1967-71, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with a Combat
Service Ribbon. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, cum laude, from Sam Houston
State University, Huntsville. In 1975, Terry earned his law degree from Baylor
University, Waco, and moved to McAllen, where he worked as an Assistant District
Attorney for Hidalgo County until 1977. He subsequently entered private practice in and
became a partner at Wilkins, Slusher, Key, Kelly & Mullin. He joined the firm in 1984.
Terry specializes in commercial litigation, collections, consumer bankruptcy, and
creditors' rights. He is licensed to practice in all federal courts in Texas.
Terry has served and belongs to various professional associates. He was a two-term
director of the Hidalgo County Bar Association. Currently, Terry serves as a committee
director of the State Bar of Texas and is a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.*
