Alex Benavides
 

ALEX BENAVIDES was raised in Zapata, Texas and graduated from Zapata High School in 2001.  He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management in 2005 along with a Certificate in Leadership Development.  Alex was also a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.  In 2008, Alex earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was admitted to the Texas state bar that same year.   

Alex joined the firm’s litigation team with a history of courtroom experience.  He spent the majority of his career as a prosecutor: First for the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office in the misdemeanor and then felony division; then, as a federal prosecutor at the United States Attorney’s Office in McAllen, Texas.   Alex also spent some time at the Law Offices of Michael M. Guerra in McAllen, Texas where he practiced personal injury litigation specializing in car accident and trucking accident cases.  He is licensed to practice in Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. 

Alex serves in the military as a captain in the JAG Corps for the United States Air Force Reserves.He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Hidalgo County Bar Association.He is a former member of the State Bar of Texas Crime Victims Committee and former director of the Hidalgo County Young Lawyers Association.Additionally, Alex is a Weslaco little league baseball coach where he also serves as a board member
